Atta Tarar says KP gains authority to fight terrorism

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has welcomed a recent development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the change would empower provincial residents to fight terrorism and support efforts to eliminate the threat.

Addressing a seminar on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad, Tarar said residents wanted to end terrorism completely. He described the development as an encouraging step towards removing the threat from the province.

Tarar also warned Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities against interpreting Pakistan’s desire for peace as weakness. He said Pakistan wanted to eliminate militancy in Afghanistan and prevent terrorist groups from threatening regional security.

The minister claimed that around 6,000 banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan members were present in Afghanistan. He added that the total number of militants there exceeded 20,000, according to his statement.

Tarar said Pakistan remained committed to eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace. He pledged that the government would continue efforts to make the country safer for its citizens.

The information minister highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He said the country had suffered economic losses exceeding $100 billion during its counterterrorism campaign.

Tarar maintained that Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism had also contributed to global security. He reiterated the government’s commitment to defeating militancy and establishing lasting peace across the country.
