Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced a new uniform for its cabin crew. The airline officially unveiled the design at an event in Lahore. The new PIA cabin crew uniform was designed by famous Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, also known as HSY. The new look is part of the airline’s efforts to improve its image and give its brand a more modern appearance.

The new uniform will become part of PIA’s services on October 31, 2026. According to the announcement, it will first be worn by the crew on the airline’s inaugural Boeing Dreamliner flight between Islamabad and London. The launch will mark the introduction of the new design to passengers on this route.

In September 2026, PIA held a design showcase in Karachi. Ten leading Pakistani fashion designers presented their ideas for the cabin crew uniform. These included Nomi Ansari, Amir Adnan, and Generation. The airline invited designers to create a look that would reflect Pakistan’s culture while meeting the needs of modern air travel.

The jury selected HSY’s design because it offered comfort and durability for long flights. It also reflected Pakistani culture and modern fashion. These features were important in choosing a uniform that cabin crew members could wear comfortably during their working hours. The design aims to combine a professional appearance with practical use.

The uniform change is part of PIA’s wider efforts to update its brand following the airline’s privatisation process. The airline hopes to present a fresh image through changes to its cabin crew uniforms and services. The new PIA cabin crew uniform also highlights the role of Pakistani fashion designers in creating a modern look for the national airline.
